What is the EUDR?

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aims to ensure that specific commodities placed on the EU market or exported from the EU are not associated with deforestation activities.
The regulation requires companies to ensure that their products' production processes after December 31, 2020 are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation, and comply with relevant laws in the country of origin. Companies must also verify that these products meet the producing country's legal requirements, including respect for human rights and the rights of affected indigenous peoples.
EUDR covers the following commodities:
Cattle, timber, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soy, rubber, and their derived products.
To comply with the regulation, companies must:
Establish a supply chain traceability system,Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures,Submit a formal due diligence statement.
Note: The regulation will take effect for large enterprises from December 30, 2025, while small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have an extended deadline until June 30, 2026.
